The Charterhouse classic car auction on Sunday 21st July celebrates 100 years of Aston Martin Motor Cars with a highly desirable DB6 Vantage going under the hammer.
“Over the past 6 years all classic Aston Martin’s have shot up in value and in many cases cost more than an average house!” Commented Matthew Whitney. “And we are therefore thrilled to be instructed to sell a 1966 Aston Martin DB6 Vantage for a client near Newbury which is estimated at £140,000-160,000.”
With just under 2,000 Aston Martin DB6’s produced they are a rare sight on our roads today. The DB6 being offered by Charterhouse is a desirable Vantage specification which comes with triple Webber carburettors and a high compression ratio cylinder head producing 325hp driven through a 5 speed ZF gearbox.
This particular Aston Martin has only two recorded owners from new. The current owner purchased the car in 1975 for £1,200 and covered an average of just 150 miles per year for 20 years, at which point it was driven into his garage never to see the light of day again in 2013. The car has preformed not only impeccably on the road, but also in terms as an investment, which could see the owner having a return of over 11,600% on his capital employed!
Finished in its original Fiesta red paintwork, and with a beautifully patinated black leather interior, Charterhouse is expecting this rare motor car to sell for £140,000-160,000 in their specialist sale of classic and vintage cars & motorcycles in a marquee at Sherborne Castle on Sunday 21st July.
Charterhouse is now accepting further entries into the auction.
