Car Auction is a Classic

The Charterhouse auction of classic cars, motorcycles and automobilia at The Footman James Classic Car Show on Sunday 2nd November was a huge success with the auction totalling nearly £320,000.

“It was a great way to finish the year with some fantastic results for our clients.” We have worked hard and travelled far and wide to get entries into the auction. We visited a good number of clients throughout Devon, Cornwall, Dorset, Somerset, Wiltshire and Hampshire, but the prize for the car which travelled the furthest went to a chap in Ireland who consigned a Mini Cooper into the sale!”

Top lot in the sale was a 1947 MG TC. Resplendent in racing red, it sold for its delighted Dorset owner at £30,000. This was closely followed by a beautifully restored 1962 Daimler Dart SP250 from a Devon client, which sold for £29,000, a 1971 Lotus Elan S4, also from Devon, sold for £26,500, another MG TC, this time from Somerset, sold for £26,000, a 1935 Rolls Royce 20/25 Tourer from Cornwall sold for £22,500, a 1962 Morris Minor convertible from Poole £10,000 and a 1968 MGC GT from near Bath which has not been in storage for several years sold for £7,500.

Charterhouse is now accepting entries for its auction of Classic & Vintage Motorcycles at The Carole Nash Classic Motorcycle Show at the Royal Bath & West Showground, Shepton Mallet on Sunday 8th February, which is followed a week later with Classic & Vintage Cars at The Footman James Classic Car Show at the same venue.
